I live in Chicago and use OpenDNS for my DNS servers, however it seems that I am routed to the DC area when routing to the OpenDNS servers instead of the servers located a stones throw away here in the city. I have opened a ticket with OpenDNS regarding the routing. Here is what a traceroute looks like from my system: traceroute to 208.67.220.220 (208.67.220.220), 64 hops max, 52 byte packets1 router.asus.com (192.168.1.1) 1.241 ms 0.754 ms 0.658 ms2 10.48.112.1 (10.48.112.1) 13.342 ms 9.024 ms 7.664 ms3 vl80.aggr2.chgo.il.rcn.net (207.229.191.131) 12.275 ms 6.311 ms 7.710 ms4 tge0-0-0-0.core1.chgo.il.rcn.net (207.172.15.197) 5.175 ms 6.910 ms 10.007 ms5 tge0-1-0-2.core1.lnh.md.rcn.net (207.172.19.234) 30.025 ms 25.228 ms 25.137 ms6 tge0-1-0-6.border1.eqnx.va.rcn.net (207.172.19.7) 37.182 mstge0-0-0-7.border1.eqnx.va.rcn.net (207.172.19.179) 28.964 mstge0-1-0-6.border1.eqnx.va.rcn.net (207.172.19.7) 34.758 ms7 gi0-1.rtr1.ash.opendns.com (206.126.236.128) 28.999 ms 27.334 ms 28.740 ms My encoded MAC is 056f5e91d92c6834dbb79ef8151f58218dd59e91.
