So RCN upgraded me to the 155/20 service and had to replace my older modem for the Arris DG2470A. Prior to its installation I enjoyed remote access to some home servers via nonstandard ports that typically would not be blocked by RCN (In fact I confirmed this with a call to them). Although the speed is great it seems that everything inbound is blocked even things that were not blcoked before. I noticed another strange thing. My Synology Router which would typically show my external IP address in the IPV4 status area now shows what amounts to an internal address that is not on my subnet. It lists my external IP as 192.168.0.2 and my gatway as 192.168.0.1
This is new since the modem was installed and I'm wondering if its the cause of my routing problems. Again no issues with connectivity or speed just routing. I sort of rely on some of these home services so its important. RCN was somwhat unhelpful related to this issue so I'm hoping to get some advice from others who might have run across the same problem.
Another related questions is does this modem have a web interface perhaps (I doubt it but its worth the question). It also has four ethernet ports on the back too and was wondering if anyone has ever used these
Thanks
John
