When my TiVo equipment was installed in my house in 2012 the technician made a big deal about the importance of Point of Entry MOCA filter. Another technician said it was a good idea to filter out the modem. Both of these statements can be confirmed by online articles.

But my friend had a TiVo Preview installed at her house last week. The technician installed an Actiontec ECB 2500C MOCA bridge as the Modem & Router was on a different floor than the TiVo Preview. RCN said the POE filter is no longer necessary because the Actiontec bridge has a filter installed. I cannot confirm by online article.
