I've been dealing with an issue of severe latency during peak hours, making any online gaming or streaming near impossible. I've had 4 different techs come out to the house and we've eliminated any possible issues from inside the house. They worked on the node and said they changed out some ports and replaced an amp but the issue still persists. I had a supervisor call me from RCN when a "construction crew" was supposed to come and replace the wiring outside of the house but only one tech came to "work on the modem". The supervisor said that he saw an issue with one of the upstream channels and that one of the users could be eating up the bandwidth of the node that I'm on. He said because they don't cap anyone and the bandwidth is finite this issue may never be resolved or if it is it might take months to correct.
Has anyone dealt with a similar issue and had it resolved or maybe could offer some advice about what I should be asking the techs and support to maybe help get this resolved quicker? I'm desperate at this point because its been going on for about a year and I have no other good ISP alternatives. Thanks.
