RCN is selling Starz Channel for as little as $2 per month. Basically you can't afford to pass up the opportunity to get ten commercial free channels for such little money.
Their new Starz series is called "Da Vinci's Demons", which is reviewed in New York and London in the links below. A highly fictional account of Leonardo Da Vinci at age 25 is the subject, but strangely it is very careful to get all the historical facts corrects. A little like "Shakespeare in Love" which is a fantasy about a 29 year old Shakespeare, and the love affair that would inspire all of his later works.
The British publication says the show is "Bad in a rather special way: The series is so incapable of subtlety that it destroys any semblance of immersion."
While there is certainly no evidence that Leonardo traveled the 1000 miles to Dracula's castle, it is true that Dracula died when Leonardo was in his mid 20's. So it is at least a feasible concept for an episode.
I like the review. The show does pander to base instincts like other cable series, and shamelessly casts Leonardo as a medieval Sherlock Holmes, but it has true sparks of genius. It is very compelling TV.
