I have RCN in NYC. I have the 155MBPS plan. I have a splitter in my office. One cable wire goes to their Arris digital phone modem, another one goes into a cable modem that I PURCHASED. Not RCN's. It is a Cisco/Linksys DPC-3008. That connects to an Asus AC1300 router that then goes to all my devices. I have had perfect performance with this router and also my modem for the last two years. but over the last 3 days, there wil be 30 second-2 minute time periods where my computer browser will say "waiting for google" when i try to google something. At that moment, youtube will also not be responsive, but all other websites during this time period are fine as always. The WEIRDEST thing is during this time period, my PS4 Pro console will also not be able to connect to playstation network. So basically its google services, and my game console crippled for 30sec-2minutes many times a day for the last few days.
This problem is on wired/wireless. I have power cycled everything. I have gone into all devices including my router and changed DNS to different ones including auto, google, and also 1.1.1.1 cloudflare.
I am trying to figure out if its just me or an RCN thing or a google thing? anyone else experience this in the last few days?
