Interesting OFDMA progress in Chicago

It seems someone on Reddit in the loop now has an 11MHz wide OFDMA upload channel from 5-16MHz, in an exceptionally noisy part of the plant. https://www.reddit.com/r/HomeNetworking/comments/11fjxbh/how_ofdma_fixed_my_internet_can_anyone_explain/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&utm_term=link https://i.imgur.com/HNoBoqk.png I'm curious what RCN is trying to gain out of this, other than buying time to maybe go high split later? They're still only selling 1200/20 as the highest speed tier, so it must be just for congestion relief. The good news is, with this development, it seems they have finally killed off that Arris VoicePort service that was taking up this space, and i've noticed all of the business' around here now have the Android TV boxes RCN gives out, so maybe they're actually getting ready to do something about these upload speeds? They also allow buying 1200Mbps with BYOD now, I was provisioned on 1200/20 though on my SB8200 and got the same exact speed as when I was on Gig (1201/23) when using LAG, so it seems they're both provisioned the same lmao [att=1]
