I am a freelance tech consultant and I have a customer who has current RCN service but she gave up her RCN email years ago and now needs it to be re-created again so she can change the password on her Facebook account. I did a remote session with her with RCN/Astound's customer service but the first line techs couldn't fix the problem and gave her a ticket #.
She reached out to them on her own and had it escalated and they claimed they recreated the email address. They gave her the password to it but she's never been able to login. The RCN support said she needs to clear her browser cache but the account can't be logged into on RCN's own Webmail nor added to email clients like Apple Mail.
I'm hoping an RCN/Astound employee here can escalate things. I know for security purposes you'll need to speak to the actual customer so I will put you in touch with her directly. I can also provide the ticket # via direct message. The reason she needs to change her Facebook password is a hacker has partial control of the account. Ironically he does not have full control due to this same RCN - email issue.
