Encoded Mac: 5cb2a1461321017e614473241403726eca3402bc Hello, For the last month or so I've been experiencing packet loss on my cable modem during certain activities. I've narrowed it down to times that my modem is uploading data to the net. I can reliably reproduce the problem by doing an upload speed test. Below is an output of a ping to www.google.com: 64 bytes from 173.194.64.105: icmp_seq=0 ttl=49 time=25.070 ms 64 bytes from 173.194.64.105: icmp_seq=1 ttl=49 time=24.561 ms 64 bytes from 173.194.64.105: icmp_seq=2 ttl=49 time=24.785 ms 64 bytes from 173.194.64.105: icmp_seq=3 ttl=49 time=25.866 ms 64 bytes from 173.194.64.105: icmp_seq=4 ttl=49 time=28.806 ms 64 bytes from 173.194.64.105: icmp_seq=5 ttl=49 time=25.535 ms 64 bytes from 173.194.64.105: icmp_seq=6 ttl=49 time=24.703 ms As you can see, everything looks good. Now let me start an upload (speed test): 64 bytes from 173.194.64.105: icmp_seq=120 ttl=49 time=24.521 ms 64 bytes from 173.194.64.105: icmp_seq=121 ttl=49 time=26.059 ms Request timeout for icmp_seq 122 Request timeout for icmp_seq 123 Request timeout for icmp_seq 124 Request timeout for icmp_seq 125 Request timeout for icmp_seq 126 64 bytes from 173.194.64.105: icmp_seq=127 ttl=49 time=25.417 ms Request timeout for icmp_seq 128 Once uploading starts, the packet loss starts, every time. This happens also during normal uploading activities like file uploads, online gaming, etc. I'm at a loss as to what is going on. Additional points: - This happens when directly plugged into the modem - My encoded MAC is 5cb2a1461321017e614473241403726eca3402bc - Downstream Limit: 78000000, Upstream Limit: 11000000 - I never reach my full package download speed, I usually max out around 50mbps. Right now I'm only getting around 25mbps down. Not sure if this matters, but it's another problem I'm experiencing, thought it might be worth mentioning. Does anyone have any ideas? Could this be a bad modem? I've ruled out the router and computers by doing the same thing with my Mac and my Windows PC. Should I try to get my profile lowered .. ? I'm at a loss, please help.
