I was hoping someone here could point me to what might be the problem with my disconnects. Just to briefly explain...
I've had RCN for about 3 weeks now and was plagued with a constantly rebooting modem and disconnects (being kicked from Xbox Live Parties, games, etc.). The disconnects didn't always result in any change in my modem lights or the modem rebooting.. they just would happen in addition to or along with the modem reboots.
I've had 3 tech people out here, used RCN's modem and then my own when they told me their modem was faulty. The same issues persisted on both modems. All the research seems to point me to weak signals. The last tech greatly improved almost all of my signals, but my downstream signal to noise seemed to stay the same.
After the last visit yesterday, my modem hasn't rebooted one time. I can game all day without any issues, but in the evenings after 3pm, I start to get these disconnects. Sometimes they happen ever game (about every 15 minutes) and sometimes I can play for an hour before they happen.
I've included screenshots of my signals just a few minutes after my last disconnect. My logs are relatively clean, but the "SW INIT download failures" and "SYNC Timing Synchronization failure - Loss of Sync" seems to appear around the time my disconnects happen. Any idea before the final tech comes to determine if they should continue offering me service at my current location (their words)? RCN offers the fastest speed at my location and I don't want to switch to Xfinity/Comcast.
