I upgraded from 50 to 155 in June '15. Roll truck because I need a new modem. They gave me an Arris CM820.
I just called now to upgrade from 155 to 330, and you're telling me I need another new modem? Seriously?
It appears that although the CM820 can support up to 343Mbps down raw speed, you are trying to proactively replace these modems with ones that can handle gigabit speeds in order to hope people will upgrade to that tier when available in their area. Understandable, but why were you issuing CM820's in June 2015 when you had gigabit plans at least in beta and trials at the time anyway?
On that note: What are my options other than sitting around at home on a day off waiting for a cable guy like it's 1998 or something?
