[Connectivity] How long to wait for a node split

I've had prime time (7-11pm) issues with RCN for the duration of my service, about 8 months now. After multiple tech visits, I was finally able to get in contact with a line technician who confirmed that the area was in need of a node split. He confirmed that people in my area have made similar complaints as mine. I was suspecting that this was the issue for a long time, but it took RCN a lot longer to come to the same conclusion. I was hoping to get an idea how long I should be waiting for work to begin. It has been about 6 weeks since I was told a node split was necessary, and when asking the line tech about it, all I get in response is that the construction team are in the process of getting permits. Now, I don't think the tech is lying to me, and I do believe he wants to get this resolved, he even went so far as to send me pictures of what appeared to be RCN blueprints for the wiring in my area and how they plan to split everything. I've been waiting 8 months for a fix to the problem, and my patience is running a bit thin. To anyone that had to go through a situation where a node split was required, can you shed some light as to how long it took for everything to get fixed? Also, I was thinking about filing an FCC complaint. Would this only prolong the process or will this help me to get things resolved sooner?
