I'm trying to help a relative with a long-overdue migration of their RCN (actually Starpower) email account to Gmail, and I'm getting stuck with the final step, configuring the RCN account to auto-forward all incoming emails. I'm pretty sure I've found the right setting, but it seems to have no effect.
1. Access Webmail
2. go to Settings/Mail/Receiving Messages
3. For the section "When a message arrives", I check the box for "Forward a copy to" [new email address]
4. I also check "Don't keep a local copy of messages"
The settings seem to be straightforward enough. However, with a few tests the account does not appear to be successfully forwarding anything to Gmail.
The "Don't keep a local copy of messages" option does appear to be acting as expected, when enabled nothing makes it to the RCN inbox, when disabled incoming emails still appear there.
Anyone have any ideas? I found a 12-year-old thread on the topic but it seems to be referring to systems that no longer exist ("USERTOOLS") and an older version of the webmail. https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r21233434-E-Mail-How-to-forward-email-from-RCN
