[Connectivity] [Transmit Power] 60640 problems.

I've had RCN since I moved to Andersonville back in 2018. I didn't have problems with it when I lived in Lincoln Park. Since late 2020/early 2021 I've had techs out to my rented condo roughly ten times, I've had a tech re-crimp all the wiring in my apartment, he replaced the wire from the tap in the alley that was old leading to the line feeding my rented condo from the basement distribution point, and I've replaced my modem twice. I have RCN's gigabit cable plan. I bought an ARRIS surfboard 8200 to enjoy gigabit service, and that modem was so bad I replaced it with a Netgear CM1200. The netgear is better, but I still get connection drops. The last tech I had out here thinks it is, to the best of my recollection, an issue with the distribution node on a pole in the alley behind my condo transmitting too much power so my modem has to compensate by jacking up the transmit power. Let's just say I've been a familiar presence in RCN's tech support's direct message inbox on twitter :) I also have a smart power plug that reboots my modem when it detects a service drop. Has anyone else had problems like this in 60640 / Uptown / The far north side of chicago? Should I just switch service?
