Astound - $10 Auto Pay Discount

Astound started billing us $10 more than usual. Called billing and they stated our auto-pay discount was discontinued because we were a customer for 25 years.... Can you believe it. Wife contacted 2 different supervisors and they both refused to re-instate the $10 autopay discount we have had for the last 25 years. They did however change us to a new "plan" that had the same price, which was $30/m for 300mb service. Can't beat that. BUT, when the droid changed plans, it loaded an invalid cable modem configuration and locked up our cable modem. I immediately noticed we lost internet and told her in real time what happened. She stated her change could not have possibly affected the cable modem and there was known service issue in our area (how could she have known so quickly?). 10 minutes later after that call ended I called tech support and a nice representative had me unplug the router, re-seat the cable connection. It did not come up after another 10 minutes. I then notified her about the recent configuration/plan changes which must be the issue and asked her to restore the settings to what was previously working. After 10 minutes it still was not up and she created a technical support ticket for tomorrow (adding that a $79 fee would be charged if it was the cable modem issue; yah right). Anyway, after another 10 minutes it completed booting so it's back to original configuration I guess. I'll cancel the appointment later today. That's all for today's debacle..
