I live in LIC Queens New York. Thinking about making the switch to RCN from Time Warner Cable. Interested in RCN's 110/15 internet package and have a few questions. Currently have TWC's 30/5 package and really have no complaints other than they are jacking up the rates big time, so RCN caught my eye (and the RCN speeds are a lot better).
Basically, how's the reliability for RCN? Any major complaints (or at least compared to TWC)? Does RCN allow home servers to be setup as VPNs or do they block? What about using my own router? TWC makes a technician disable the router on the modem/router combination if I want to use my own router. Does RCN do the same or do they allow you login access to config yourself to turn off the bundled router?
