I used to use a Surfboard 6120 modem, but it stopped working last year when RCN did some kind of upgrade, I think because it didn't have enough downstream channels. I used an RCN rented modem for awhile, but when they raised the rental price, I decided to buy my own modem again and I bought a Surfboard SB6190, which has 32 download and 8 upload channels.
I only have 25/5 RCN service (I would upgrade if it wasn't such a ripoff for existing customers). When I run Merlin, I see it's bonding to only 16 downstream and 2 upstream channels. I seem to be getting proper download speeds, but my upload speed only averages 3.xMb/s. And if I run DSL Speed Test, the test fails on upload due to buffer bloat. Is this all proper?
