I am preparing a new computer and plan to migrate my Outlook pst files from my old computer (pop3 direct downlod) to the new computer.
To prevent the server from re-downloading duplicates of years of email, when I'm ready in a week or so, I need to have my account cleaned of email messages.
Very disappointed in Tech staff. They told me I have to use the RCN webmail grid of messages and click the box to select all 72,000 messages and delete them.
The problem is that the interface only loads 30 messages at a time and it is most likely to lock up either selecting 72,000 messages or deleting 72,000 messages. The tech people insisted this is the only way to do it, but no one has tried to delete the number of messages I have with the web interface.
The techs I spoke with had almost non existent technical abilities. Rcn is hiring bodies that don't understand computers, but are told to look up a solution in a script and read it back to the customer.
All you would need is a higher tier technician with access to the server and delete the files directly.
