I have a Cisco DPC3008 modem which has 8x4 channels. According to RCN its own BYOM requirements (https://www.rcn.com/hub/help/bring-your-own-modem/), it can be used with 250MBPS service. And this was also confirmed by several RCN tech-support reps when I called. However, after not being able to connect the DPC3008 the RCN installation guy insisted that the minimum 16 down channels are required for 250MBPS while 8 channels can be only used with 150MBPS service. What is the truth?
